A fish with a ring in its mouth appears on the Glasgow coat of arms. It represents the miracle that Saint Kentigern (Mungo), the patron Saint of Glasgow, was said to have performed when he found a ring inside a fish which enabled Queen Languoreth to clear her name of allegations of infidelity.
