The interior of the Great Hall at Stirling castle. It was built for James IV around 1503. The hall was used for feasts, dances and pageantry. Two royal baptism celebrations were held in the Great Hall: at Christmas 1566, hosted by Mary Queen of Scots, for her only child the future King James VI, and in August 1594, hosted by James VI, for his first born Prince Henry.
