The first Polish President-in-Exile, Wladyslaw Raczkiewicz, was buried in Newark cemetery. He was President-in-Exile from 1939-1947. He died in June 1947. [In November 2022 the body of Wladyslaw Raczkiewicz was exhumed and returned to Poland for interment at the new mausoleum the Temple of Divine Providence in Warsaw.]
